CAVS 14UThe CAVS went to the first weekend of the AAU Super Regionals with one goal in mind, win there pool. That is exactly what they did. The opening game of pool play turned out to be a total mismatch. The CAVS took on Dessert Sun from Lancaster. This game was never in doubt as the CAVS were in total control from the start. The CAVS used there huge size advantage and feed the bigs, Ryan Wright and Kennedy Edwards throughout the game. They dominated the game in the post, as every player scored. The CAVS went on to an easy 94-17 victory. Day 2 was an early Sunday morning match up against ING from Inglewood. The early start seemed to affect the CAVS the entire game. Despite the fact they didn't play "CAVS Basketball " until late in the 4th quarter to put the game away, after ING made it a single digit game.

Key Free throws and defensive stops in the 4th quarter by Chris Yanku finished off ING 55-40. The victory won the pool for the CAVS and a 2-0 record. The second game of the day was an out of Pool game against one of the top team in the state California Supreme from Los Angeles. This again was one of those games where the talk of the GYM was California Supreme might be too much for the CAVS to handle. That is exactly the way the players and coaches like it. This was another game where the 14"s just didn't have that bounce in there step, it was a hot GYM mid afternoon, and the CAVS seem to be sluggish the entire game. Again the CAVS went into the game with a size advantage. The bigs, Kennedy Edwards and Ryan Wright were too much to handle. Ryan Wright had his second game of the weekend with more then 20 points. Antwon Johnson got going in the 4th quarter attacking the basket and making some great passes. The game was back andCAVS 14U fourth until the CAVS went on a run finally picked up the defense and defeated the Supreme 77-65. Although this win didn't mean much as far as pool play it goes a long way, in proving to all of those who continue to ask the question who is the best team in California? The CAVS seem to have the answer to the question every time they step on the court. The answer could come when the Super Regionals continue this upcoming weekend. GO CAVS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! The entire CAVS family is behind you.
