Once again, the CAVS 13U bring home another championship.  Even without the entire roster and some new additions, the CAVS convincingly defeated every opponent by double digits on their way to the championship.

They had a big job ahead of them.  Along with being placed in the toughest pool, the first game was against one of SoCals best 13U teams, the RC Bulls.  With Chris Yanku scoring 32 points and big games out of Chris Johnson and Antwon Johnson, the CAVS cruised to a 60-41 opening game victory.

Game 2 was against Triple Double from Las Vegas.  Although the big 3 had great games, the win was a total team effort.  Everyone played well as the CAVS went 2-0 with the 62-48 win.  The second game Saturday was an evening match-up against the host team from Reno, NV, Jam On It.  Again, this win was the result of a total team effort.  Ashton King played his best game of the season.  All of his hard work has begun to pay off.  He will be a force next season.  Justin Eisen shot the ball well and the team defense was excellent.  CAVS 81 - Jam On It 41.

Sunday morning the CAVS ended pool play with a sluggish early morning victory over Paye's Place of San Carlos, CA.  Even though they played their worst game of the tournament, the CAVS still managed to come away with a 60-32 victory.  The CAVS were up by 2 at the half.  The second half, the CAVS played CAV-type defense and held Pay’s Place to less than 10 points the rest of the game.  The CAVS ended pool play 3-0.

The first playoff game was a final four match-up with God's Property from Delaware.  The CAVS played their best "TEAM" game of the season both offensively and defensively. Antwon, Chris, Justin, Ashton, Benny, Aiden, Jorden, Jerell, Spencer, and CJ all played outstanding basketball.  CJ dominated the boards and held God's Property's 6'3" Big Man, who had been dominating every other team, to just 6 points.  The CAVS easily advanced to the Championship with a 64-35 win.

The Championship game was a rematch with the RC Bulls.  It was said this was going to be their sweet redemption and they would not let Chris Yanku dominate them again.  The Bulls made a valiant effort and played tough the entire game.  They double teamed Chris and also played a Box and 1 against him, but this is a “TEAM.”  Their concentration on Chris allowed CJ and Antwon to carry the load.  Teamwork proved that the CAVS were the better team as they held off the Bulls and eventually won 44-33. GREAT WEEKEND CAVS!
